Group Messaging

Group Messaging is team chat inside BusinessHRM: send direct messages to colleagues, create private groups for a team or project, and post in company‑wide channels.

Where to find itSidebarMessages / Group Messaging (/account/group-messaging).

Module & permission: Appears only when the module is enabled and your role has the messaging permission.

Direct messages

Pick a colleague from the user list and chat one‑to‑one. Conversations are private between the two of you.

Groups

A group is a private conversation for a chosen set of people — for example a project team or a department.

  1. Create a group and give it a name.
  2. Add members (the people who can see and post in it).
  3. Everyone in the group shares the same conversation; you can add or remove members later.

Use Fetch group members on a group to see who's in it.

Channels

Channels are broader conversation spaces (e.g. Announcements, General) that the relevant people in your company can follow and post in — useful for company‑wide updates rather than a fixed small group.

Sending messages

  • Type in the message box and send.
  • Conversations, groups and channels each keep their own history, so you can scroll back through past messages.

Tip: Use direct messages for one‑to‑one questions, groups for a specific team's private discussion, and channels for announcements everyone should see.
