Creating & Managing a Deal
A deal is a single potential sale linked to a contact. This article covers creating a deal, the fields on the create form, and how to work the deal detail page — the Deal Info card, the quick action buttons, and the Files / Follow Up / Proposal / Notes tabs.
Where to find it
- Sidebar → Deals → click Add (on the board or list view).
Creating a deal requires the Add Deals permission.
How to create a deal
- Open Deals and click Add.
- Complete the Deal Details form (fields below).
- Click Save, or Save & Add More to start another deal immediately.
Create Deal fields

| Deal Name | A short, recognisable name. If left blank, the contact's name is used. | No |
| Pipeline | Which pipeline the deal belongs to. Changing this reloads the Stage list. | Yes |

| Deal Value | The monetary amount, shown with your company currency. Defaults to 0. | Defaults to 0 |
| Close Date | The expected closing date. Defaults to 30 days from today. | Yes |
| Deal Category | A category for the deal. You can add one inline with Add. | No |
| Deal Agent | The employee responsible for the deal. The options depend on the chosen category (agents are assigned per category). Add one inline with Add. | No |
| Products | One or more products (only if the Products / Purchase module is enabled). | No |
| Deal Watcher | An employee who watches/follows the deal. Defaults to you. | No |

The deal detail page
Click a deal (card or row) to open it. The page has the Deal Info card, quick action buttons, a history timeline, and content tabs.
Deal Info
The Deal Info card shows:
- Pipeline → Stage (colour-coded badges with an arrow between them)
- Deal Name
- Contact name
- Company Name
- Deal Category
- Deal Agent
- Deal Watcher
- Status (if set)
- Close Date
- Deal Value (currency-formatted)
- Products
- Any custom fields
A ⋯ (more) menu offers Edit and Delete (subject to permissions). The right-hand column shows a History timeline of changes to the deal.
Quick action buttons
At the top of the detail page:
- Add Follow Up — opens the follow-up window to schedule your next touchpoint (see Follow Up tab below). Not available when the deal is in Win or Lost.
- Add Note — opens a pop-up to add a quick note to the deal.
- Upload File — opens your file picker to attach a file to the deal.
- Create Proposal — opens the Proposal creation page in a new tab, pre-linked to this deal.
Tabs on the deal
File
The default tab. Drag and drop files into the uploader (or use the Upload File quick action) to attach them to the deal. Each file can be downloaded or deleted.
Follow Up
A table of your follow-ups with Created On, Next Follow Up, Remark and Status. Click New Follow Up to schedule one.
Follow-up fields:

New follow-ups start with status Pending; you can later mark them Completed or Canceled. Follow-ups cannot be added once the deal is Win or Lost.
Proposal
A table of proposals sent for this deal, showing Proposal Number, Total, Date, Valid Till and Status (Waiting / Accepted / Declined, plus a Not Sent badge if unsent). Click Create Proposal to build one. From a proposal you can view it, get its public link, download it, edit it, send it, and convert it to an invoice.
Notes
A table of deal notes with Note Detail and Created On. Click Create Note to add one (also available via the Add Note quick action). Click a note to view or edit it.

Consent records, shown only if GDPR is enabled.
Permission notes
- View / Add / Edit / Delete Deals (scoped All / Added / Owned / Both / None).
- Files, follow-ups, proposals and notes each have their own view/add/edit/delete permissions.
- "Owned" scope covers deals where you are the Deal Agent or Deal Watcher.
Tips
- Leave Deal Name blank to auto-name the deal after the contact.
- Set Close Date realistically — it drives your pipeline forecasting.
- Use follow-up reminders so you never miss a touchpoint.
- Use Create Proposal to turn a deal into a priced quote, then convert the accepted proposal into an invoice.
