Timesheet Reports and Earnings

Beyond the day-to-day list, BusinessHRM offers a calendar view of logged time and several reports that summarise hours and earnings. This article explains both, and how earnings are worked out.

The calendar view

Where to find itGo to WorkTimesheet and click the Calendar view button.

What it shows

  • A month/week/day/list calendar.
  • Each day shows the total hours logged that day.
  • Only approved, completed entries appear on the calendar — pending, active, or rejected entries are not shown.
  • You can filter by employee, project, status, and invoice-generated.

Time-log reports

The reports live under the Reports section of the sidebar and require the time-log report permission.

Report What it shows
Time Log Report A bar chart of total hours logged per day, plus totals for Total Hours Worked, Total Break, and Total Earnings, with a table of the underlying entries. Filter by date range, employee, contact, project, task, status, and invoice-generated.
Weekly Timesheet Time grouped by week, including pending approvals for managers.
Consolidated Report A combined summary across the selected criteria.
Project-wise Time Log Report Hours by project, with an Excel export.

How earnings are calculated

Earnings are always calculated automatically — you never type them in. For each entry:

  • Earnings are based on the worked time (total time minus breaks) at an hourly rate.
  • The rate used is the member's hourly rate on that project. If that is not set, it falls back to the employee's default hourly rate.

The Earnings column on the Time Logs list and the earnings figures in the reports are only visible to users with the view-earnings permission. For everyone else, earnings are hidden.

Billable time and invoices

Whether a time log has been billed is shown by the Invoice Generated filter (Yes/No) — that is, whether the entry has been pulled onto an invoice. Time logs can be fetched into invoices elsewhere in the app.

Permissions

Permission Controls
View time log report Access to all the time-log reports.
View timelog earnings Seeing the Earnings column and earnings totals.

Tips

  • Set each member's hourly rate on the project so earnings are accurate — see Project members and the project admin.
  • Use the Project-wise report (with Excel export) for billing and client summaries.
  • Remember the calendar only reflects approved time, so use the Time Logs list to chase anything still pending.
