Renewing a Contract

When a contract reaches the end of its term, you can renew it to extend the dates and update the value, while keeping a full history of every renewal.

How to renew a contract

Open the contract and go to the Renewal tab.
Click Renew Contract.
Set the new Start Date, End Date, and Contract Value.
Click Save.

What changes when you renew

A renewal history entry is recorded (value, dates, who renewed it, and when).
The contract's value, start date, and end date are updated to the new renewal terms.
The contract's original terms are kept internally, so deleting the latest renewal rolls the contract back to the previous renewal (or to the original terms).

Important: renewing a contract removes the contact's existing signature, so the contract returns to unsigned and the contact must sign it again. The company signature is not affected. See Signing a contract.

Renewal history

The Renewal tab lists every renewal, showing who renewed it, the renew date, and a table of start date, end date, and the new contract value. Each history entry can be edited or deleted (subject to permission). Deleting the most recent renewal rolls the contract back to the previous one.

Tips

Renew before the contract expires so there is no gap in coverage — the new start date defaults to the current end date.
After renewing, send the contact a fresh public sign link so they can re-sign the renewed terms.
