Biometric Attendance

The Biometric module connects physical biometric attendance devices (such as ZKTeco fingerprint/face terminals) to BusinessHRM, so punches recorded on the device flow into the app's attendance automatically — no manual entry.

Where to find itSidebarBiometric — with Devices, Employees, and Attendance.

Module & permission: Appears only when the module is enabled and your role has the biometric permission. Setting up devices is an admin task.

1. Register a device

Under Biometric → Devices, add each physical terminal (its name, IP/connection details and type). Once registered, BusinessHRM can talk to the device to enrol employees and pull attendance.

2. Enrol / sync employees

Under Biometric → Employees you link app employees to their record on the device:

  • Fetch the users stored on a device.
  • Map / sync device users to the matching BusinessHRM employees, so a punch by that person is attributed to the right employee.
  • Choose which employees to sync to a device.

Tip: An employee must be linked (their device user ID mapped to their BusinessHRM profile) for their punches to be recognised.

3. Pull attendance

Under Biometric → Attendance (or Get Biometric Attendance), BusinessHRM reads the punch logs from the device and turns them into normal attendance records — clock‑in/clock‑out entries you'll then see in the regular Attendance screens and reports.

Commands

Behind the scenes, the module sends commands to devices (for enrolment, syncing, and fetching logs). You generally don't need to touch these directly, but they're where device communication is tracked if you need to troubleshoot.

Related: Once punches are imported, everything else — late marking, regularisation, reports — works exactly as described in Attendance.
