Tracker settings

The Settings page controls how the desktop time-tracker app captures screenshots and activity for everyone in your company. There is one set of settings per company, and the desktop app reads them automatically — so a change you save here applies to all monitored members.

Where to find itActivity TrackerSettings

Permission: Only roles with Manage Tracker Settings set to All can open or change this page. Other users won't see the Settings link at all.

To change anything, edit the fields and click Save at the bottom. The settings are grouped into four sections.

Screenshots

Controls if and how the desktop app captures pictures of the screen.

Setting What it does Default
Capture Screenshots Master on/off switch for screenshots across all monitored members. Turn it off and no screenshots are taken. On
Screenshot Interval How often a screenshot is taken: Off, or every 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 60 minutes. Off disables interval capture. 10 minutes
Randomise Capture Moment Captures at a random moment within each interval instead of exactly on the mark, so screenshots aren't predictable. On
Blur Screenshots Stores blurred screenshots to protect sensitive on-screen content while still showing roughly what was on screen. Off
Screenshot Quality Image quality from 1 to 100. Lower values use less storage; higher values are sharper. 70

Tip: If storage is a concern, lower the Screenshot Quality and/or increase the Screenshot Interval rather than turning screenshots off entirely.

Note: Blur Screenshots is a privacy safeguard — the blurred image is what gets stored, and screenshots captured this way are marked Blurred in the gallery.

Activity Monitoring

Controls how the app measures activity and what else it records.

Setting What it does Default
Idle Threshold (seconds) Mark a member as idle after this many seconds with no mouse or keyboard input. 600 (10 minutes)
Activity Sample Window (seconds) The length of each sampling interval the app uses to score activity. Each window produces one activity sample (clicks, key presses, activity %, idle/active). 60
Monitor Applications Record which applications members use while tracking time. On
Monitor URLs Record the website domains members visit while tracking time. On

Note: The activity percentage you see in the logs and reports is calculated from these samples. A shorter Activity Sample Window gives finer-grained samples; a longer one produces fewer, broader samples.

Working Hours

Optionally restricts tracking to a daily time window.

Setting What it does Default
Enforce Working Hours When on, activity is only tracked inside the configured working-hours window. Outside it, nothing is captured. Off
Work Start The time the working-hours window opens (24-hour time). 09:00
Work End The time the working-hours window closes (24-hour time). 17:00

Tip: Leave Enforce Working Hours off if your team works flexible hours. Turn it on if you only want monitoring during set office hours.

Member Controls

Controls what employees can do from the desktop app.

Setting What it does Default
Allow Members to Pause Tracking Let members temporarily pause monitoring from the desktop app — useful for private calls or sensitive work. Turn it off to keep tracking continuous while the timer runs. On

Saving

After editing any settings, click Save. The page confirms the update, and the new values take effect for each member's desktop app the next time it syncs.

Important: These are company-wide settings. There are no per-employee overrides — everyone who is monitored uses the same configuration.
