Importing Contacts
If you already have a list of contacts in a spreadsheet, you can bulk-import them into BusinessHRM from an Excel file instead of adding each one by hand.
Where to find it
- Sidebar → Contacts, then click the Import Excel button on the contacts list.
Importing requires the Add Contacts permission (All, Added or Both scope).
How to import contacts
- Go to Contacts and click Import Excel.
- Click Download Sample Import to get the sample
.xlsxtemplate. Use it as the basis for your file so the columns line up. - Fill the spreadsheet with your contacts (one per row).
- Back on the import screen, choose your Excel file.
- Toggle File contains headings on if your first row contains column names.
- Click Upload & Next.
- Map your spreadsheet columns to BusinessHRM fields, then start the import. The import runs in batches and shows progress.

Tips
- Always start from the downloaded sample file to avoid column-mapping errors.
- Contact Name is mandatory for every row; rows without a name will not import.
- Provide an email for any contact you later want to give portal login access.
- Large files import in the background — leave the page to finish processing.
