Importing Contacts

If you already have a list of contacts in a spreadsheet, you can bulk-import them into BusinessHRM from an Excel file instead of adding each one by hand.

Where to find it

  • Sidebar → Contacts, then click the Import Excel button on the contacts list.

Importing requires the Add Contacts permission (All, Added or Both scope).

How to import contacts

  1. Go to Contacts and click Import Excel.
  2. Click Download Sample Import to get the sample .xlsx template. Use it as the basis for your file so the columns line up.
  3. Fill the spreadsheet with your contacts (one per row).
  4. Back on the import screen, choose your Excel file.
  5. Toggle File contains headings on if your first row contains column names.
  6. Click Upload & Next.
  7. Map your spreadsheet columns to BusinessHRM fields, then start the import. The import runs in batches and shows progress.

Tips

  • Always start from the downloaded sample file to avoid column-mapping errors.
  • Contact Name is mandatory for every row; rows without a name will not import.
  • Provide an email for any contact you later want to give portal login access.
  • Large files import in the background — leave the page to finish processing.
