Products
Products are reusable catalog items — goods or services — that you can drop straight into invoices, estimates, proposals and orders as line items. Each product carries a price, taxes, a unit of measure and a category, so your billing stays consistent and fast.

This menu item appears if your role has view access to products.
How to add a product
- Go to Products and click Add Product.
- Enter the product Name.
- Enter the Price (the sale price).
- Choose a Product Category (and Product Sub Category if you use them). Use the inline Add buttons to create new ones.
- Select one or more Taxes to apply by default.
- Add an HSN/SAC code if you need it for tax reporting.
- Choose the Unit Type (unit of measure).
- Enter a SKU if you track stock-keeping units.
- Add a Description and upload one or more images (mark one as the default image).
- If the product is a downloadable file, tick Downloadable and upload the file.
- Save — or use Save & Add More to add another product right away.

Categories and sub-categories
- Categories — manage them in a modal where you can add a new category by entering a Category Name, and rename or delete existing ones inline.
- Sub-categories — each sub-category belongs to a category. Add one by choosing a Category and entering the Sub Category name. The sub-category dropdown on the product form updates based on the category you pick.
Where products are used
Once saved, a product can be added as a line item via the Add products / Select Product picker on:
Picking a product fills in its name, price, tax and unit automatically.
Importing products
Use the Import option on the products list to bring in many products at once from a spreadsheet.

Permissions
- View product — see products.
- Add product — create products.
- Edit product — edit products.
- Delete product — delete products.
- Manage product category / sub category — manage categories.
- Manage tax — add taxes (used by the inline "add tax" link).
Tips
- Set the correct default Tax and Unit on each product so line items are accurate the moment you add them to an invoice.
- Use Save & Add More when entering a batch of products by hand.
- Organize your catalog with categories and sub-categories so the product picker stays easy to navigate.
Note: cost/purchase price, inventory tracking and the goods-vs-service type are managed in the Purchase & Inventory module, not on this core product form.
