Theme & Branding Settings

Theme & Branding Settings is where you make BusinessHRM look like your own agency. From one page you set the application name, upload your logos and favicon, choose colours for the different panels, and control how the sign-in screen looks. These settings apply across your company, so everyone who logs in sees your branding.

Where to find itSettings sidebarTheme Settings

The page is a single form. Make your changes, then click Save at the bottom. A Use Default Theme button lets you reset the colours back to the BusinessHRM defaults.

Note: depending on how your platform is configured, some sections (such as the sign-in screen options and the per-panel colour controls) may be hidden. If the platform administrator has locked theme changes, the colour sections will not appear and an information notice explains this.

App name and branding style

Field What it does
App Name The name of your application. It appears in page titles and around BusinessHRM. Required.
Select Branding Style Chooses how your logo is shown in the sidebar header. Template 1 (square) shows a compact square logo; Template 2 (full) shows a wider full logo. Pick whichever suits the shape of your logo. Required.

Logos and favicon

You can upload separate logos for light and dark backgrounds so your branding always stays legible, plus a favicon (the small icon in the browser tab). Accepted image formats are PNG, JPG, JPEG, SVG, and BMP. When you drop in a logo image, a cropping window opens so you can adjust the framing before it is applied.

Field What it does
Light Company Logo The logo used on light backgrounds. Upload a version that reads well against white/light surfaces.
Dark Company Logo The logo used on dark backgrounds (for example a dark sidebar). Upload a version that reads well against dark surfaces.
Favicon The small icon shown in the browser tab and bookmarks. A small square image works best.

To remove a logo or favicon, clear the existing file in its upload box and save; BusinessHRM deletes the stored image. To replace one, drop in a new file and save.

Sign-in (auth) screen

These options control how your login and other authentication pages look. They are available when your installation supports per-company sign-in branding (for example when subdomains are enabled). If your setup does not include this, these fields will not appear.

Field What it does
Login Screen Background An image shown as the background of the sign-in screen. Accepted formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG, SVG, BMP.
Login Logo Background Color The background colour behind your logo on the sign-in screen. Pick a colour with the colour picker. Required when shown.
Login Logo Text Color Chooses whether text near the logo on the sign-in screen is Dark or Light, so it stays readable against your chosen background.
Header Color (Auth Theme) The header/accent colour used on the sign-in pages. Chosen with the colour picker. Required when shown.
Auth Theme Sets the sign-in pages to a Dark or Light appearance.

Panel colours (Admin, Employee, Contact)

When per-panel theming is available, you can set a header colour and a sidebar style separately for each of the three panels. This lets the admin side, the employee side, and the contact panel each have their own look. As you change the sidebar option, the live page preview updates so you can see the effect.

Admin panel theme

Field What it does
Header Color The main accent/header colour for the admin panel. Chosen with the colour picker. Required.
Sidebar Theme Sets the admin sidebar to Dark or Light.

Employee panel theme

Field What it does
Header Color The main accent/header colour for the employee panel. Chosen with the colour picker. Required.
Sidebar Theme Sets the employee sidebar to Dark or Light.

Contact panel theme

Field What it does
Header Color The main accent/header colour for the contact panel that your external contacts see. Chosen with the colour picker. Required.
Sidebar Theme Sets the contact panel sidebar to Dark or Light.

If the platform administrator has restricted theme changes, these panel colour sections are hidden and an information notice appears in their place.

Saving and resetting

To save changes:

  1. Make your edits anywhere on the page.
  2. Click Save at the bottom.
  3. The page reloads with your branding applied.

To reset colours to the BusinessHRM default:

  1. Click Use Default Theme at the bottom.
  2. Confirm the prompt.
  3. The colours are restored to the defaults (the standard header colour, dark sidebars, and a white logo background) and saved.

The reset affects the theme colours and related defaults. Your uploaded logos and favicon are not removed by the reset — clear them individually if you want them gone.

Permission

Access to this page is controlled by the Manage Theme Setting permission (manage_theme_setting). A user must have this set to "All" to open Theme Settings and save changes. Without it, the page is blocked.

Tips

  • Upload both a light and a dark logo. BusinessHRM picks the right one for each background so your brand always stays readable.
  • Use an SVG logo where possible — it stays sharp at any size.
  • Match each panel's header colour to your brand palette, but keep enough contrast with the sidebar style (Dark or Light) so menus remain easy to read.
  • Crop your logo in the window that pops up on upload so it sits neatly in the sidebar header; pair it with the branding style (square or full) that fits its shape.
  • If the colour or sign-in sections are missing, theme changes have been locked at the platform level — there is nothing wrong with your account.
  • After saving, open BusinessHRM in a fresh tab to confirm the favicon and logos look right across the panels.
