Timesheet Overview

The Timesheet module records the time you spend on tasks and projects. You can track time live with a timer or enter it by hand, and managers can review, approve, and report on it.

Where to find itIn the sidebar, open the Work section and click Timesheet.

The Timesheet menu is only visible if the Timesheet (time logs) module is enabled and your role can view time logs.

The timesheet views

At the top right of the Timesheet pages is a group of icon buttons that switch between views:

View What it shows
Time Logs The main list of time entries.
Weekly Timesheets Time grouped by week, with its own approval.
Calendar Logged hours plotted on a calendar.
Employee TimeLogs Time grouped by employee.
How It Works A quick visual guide to time tracking.

The Active Timers view is separate — it is a popup opened from the timer widget in the page header, not one of these buttons.

The Time Logs list

The main list shows each time entry with columns such as task code, task and project, employee, start time, end time, total hours, and (if you have permission) earnings. From here you can:

  • Click Log Time to add a manual entry — see Log time manually.
  • Export the list to Excel.
  • Filter by duration, employee, department, status (Approved / Pending / Rejected / Active), and whether an invoice has been generated.

Two ways to track time

  1. Live timer — start a timer when you begin work and stop it when you finish. See Start, pause, and stop the timer.
  2. Manual entry — record time after the fact by entering start and end times. See Log time manually.

Earnings

If your company tracks billable time and you have permission, each entry shows earnings, calculated automatically from the hourly rate. You never type earnings in by hand. See Timesheet reports and earnings.

Who can see what

  • View time logs permission sets your scope: everyone's entries, your own, the ones you created, or both.
  • Approving time logs is limited to admins and reporting managers.
  • Earnings are only visible with the relevant permission.
  • Contacts are limited to their own projects and cannot see the active-timers view.

Tips

  • Use the timer for live work and Log Time for time you forgot to track.
  • Filter the list by Status = Pending to see what still needs approval.
  • The internal labels and links say "time log", but the menu and module are called Timesheet — they are the same thing.
