Contact Notes & Documents
Keep a running record of conversations and store important files directly on each contact. Notes can be public to your team or private to chosen people, and can optionally be shared with the contact or password-protected. Documents let you attach files such as contracts or briefs.
Where to find it
- Open a contact, then use the Notes tab and the Documents tab on the contact profile.

How to add a note
- Open the contact and go to the Notes tab.
- Click Add (or the add-note button).
- Fill in the fields below.
- Save.

Quick note: The Note field on the Add Contact form also creates a note (titled "Note") against the contact.

- View Contact Note, Add Contact Note, Delete Contact Note — scoped (All / Added / Owned / Both / None).
- Password-protected notes prompt for the password before they open.
Contact documents
How to upload a document
- Open the contact and go to the Documents tab.
- Click to upload.
- Enter a Name and choose one or more Files.
- Save.
Allowed file types: jpeg, png, gif, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, pdf, txt. Other formats are rejected.
Each document row offers View, Download, Edit and Delete (subject to your permissions).

Tips
- Use Private notes with Select Employees for sensitive internal commentary.
- Tick Visible to client only when you want the contact to read the note in their portal.
- Use Ask to re-enter password for highly confidential notes.
