Gantt Chart and Project Roadmap

BusinessHRM gives you two visual ways to see a project at a glance: the Gantt chart (a timeline of tasks) and the Project Roadmap (an analytics dashboard).

Gantt chart

The Gantt chart plots the project's tasks across a timeline so you can see overlaps, sequencing, and dependencies.

Where to find itOpen a project from WorkProjects and click the Gantt tab.

What it shows

  • Each task is a bar running from its start date to its due date.
  • Task dependencies are drawn as link lines between bars, so you can see what must happen before what.
  • You can interact with the chart to review the schedule.

Public Gantt chart (no login)

Each project can expose a public Gantt link that anyone with the link can view without logging in. This is controlled by the View Public Gantt Chart setting on the project (Enable/Disable). To open or share it, use the project's Action menu on the Overview tab and choose the public Gantt option.

Permissions

  • View project Gantt chart — to see the Gantt tab. The Project Admin always has access.

Public Task Board (no login)

Similar to the public Gantt, a project can expose a public task board link. It is controlled by the Public Task Board setting on the project and opened from the project's Action menu. These public links are temporary and expire after a set period.

Project Roadmap

The Project Roadmap is an analytics view of a project, focused on charts and team performance rather than day-to-day editing.

Where to find itOpen the Work section of the sidebar and look for Project Roadmap (available if the Project Roadmap module is enabled). It uses the same project access permissions as the main Projects module.

What it shows

  • Task status chart — how many tasks sit in each board column.
  • Task priority chart — the spread of High / Medium / Low tasks.
  • Milestone status — complete vs incomplete milestones.
  • Hours budget chart — planned hours (from the project's Hours Allocated) versus actual logged hours, highlighting any overrun.
  • Per-member stats — assigned, completed, and late task counts plus total logged hours for each member.
  • Lists of project members and milestones.

Permissions

  • The Project Roadmap uses the standard view projects permission and requires the Project Roadmap module to be enabled.

Tips

  • Set Hours Allocated on the project so the Roadmap's planned-vs-actual hours chart is meaningful.
  • Keep task due dates and dependencies accurate so the Gantt chart reflects the real schedule.
  • Use the public Gantt or public task board links to give a contact visibility without creating a login.
