1:1 Meetings
One-on-one meetings give structure to the conversations behind your goals. In BusinessHRM a 1:1 meeting is between two people — the person it's about and the organiser — and each meeting can carry discussion points (an agenda), action items, and a link to the objective being reviewed.
List view and Calendar view
Two buttons at the top switch how meetings are shown:
- List View — meetings grouped by month and day, with Load More to page through.
- Calendar — a month/week/day calendar. Meetings are colour-coded: orange = Pending, green = Completed, red = Cancelled.
In list view, tabs (each with a live count) let you focus on:
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| Upcoming | Meetings starting in the future that aren't cancelled. |
| Pending | Meetings still marked pending. |
| Recurring | Meetings that are part of a repeat series. |
| Past | Meetings whose start time has passed. |
| Cancelled | Cancelled meetings. |
You can also filter by Employee and search (by discussion point or by the people involved).
Scheduling a meeting
- Click Add Meeting.
- Complete the fields below.
- Click Next — the meeting is saved and you go straight to adding discussion points.
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Meeting Date | Yes | Defaults to today. |
| Start On Time | Yes | When the meeting starts. |
| End On Time | Yes | When it ends. |
| Meeting For | Yes | The employee the 1:1 is about. |
| Meeting By | Yes | The organiser running the meeting. |
| Repeat | No | Tick to make it recurring (see below). |
Recurrence
When you tick Repeat, you set:
- Repeat Every — a number (e.g. every 1).
- Repeat frequency — Day, Week, Month, Monthly on the nth weekday (e.g. Monthly on the third Thursday), or Year.
- Cycles — how many occurrences to create.
Note: A new meeting starts as Pending. There is no separate location or video-link field on the create form — attendees are the two people you choose (Meeting For and Meeting By). You can link a goal (objective) to the meeting after it's created.
When you create a meeting, the Meeting For person receives an invite (unless email is disabled for your company).
Inside a meeting
Open a meeting to see its detail panel with three tabs.
Meeting Details
Shows the start/end times, Meeting For, Meeting By, the linked Goal (objective) if any, and the Status. From here, when a meeting is pending and you have access, you can:
- Mark Complete — sets the status to Completed and records when.
- Mark As Cancel — sets the status to Cancelled.
- Send Reminder — emails the participants (pending meetings only).
- View Goal / Add Goal — view the linked objective, or create/link one. Add Goal opens the objective form pre-linked to this meeting.
- Edit Meeting / Delete Meeting (from the ⋯ menu). Deleting a recurring meeting lets you choose this meeting or all meetings in the series.
Discussion Point (agenda)
The agenda for the meeting. Add a Discussion Point (free text). Each point can be marked Set it as private — private points are visible only to their author and admins (shown to others with a lock icon).
- Mark As Discussed ticks off a point during the meeting (turns its number green).
- You can edit, delete and add more points while the meeting is pending.
Action Items
Things to do that come out of the meeting. Add an Action Point (free text), then use Mark As Actioned to complete it. For a recurring meeting you can choose whether the action applies to this event or all events. Edit, delete and add more while the meeting is pending.
Note: Discussion points and action items are attributed to whoever added them; there isn't a separate "assigned to" field on these items.
Reminders
Meeting reminders are sent manually:
- From a pending meeting's Send Reminder button, or
- From the list-view dropdown on an overdue meeting, or
- From the 1:1 Meetings panel on the Performance Dashboard, which sends reminders for an organiser's pending meetings in one click.
Whether reminders and invites go out by email, Slack or push is governed by the company's Performance notification settings (managed by an admin under Settings).
